We all know that there is no better way to enjoy the summer weather than with a narrow gauge train ride along the shores of beautiful Casco Bay. But this summer will be even better. How many times in the past have you and your kids wanted to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a coal fired steam engine only to find out that the steam engine was only running on holiday weekends. Now you have your chance.

Starting this Memorial Day, in addition to our normal steam holiday weekend operations, MNGR will be running an expanded steam schedule (check out our 'Special Events' page for the complete schedule).

This expanded schedule will offer steam powered rides about every other weekend. As part of each trip our crew will have a brief discussion and educational session on something about steam. We thought we would try this expanded schedule out this year and see how you, our customers, feel about this.

Are you one of those who can't get enough of the steam locomotives? Well you are in luck, but not for long. Check out our "Guest Engineer" and decide if YOU want to be one of our Guest Engineers for a day. You will have to move fast what spots are left are disappearing fast and will soon be gone. In fact, some days are already completely sold out.

After your train ride be sure to enjoy your visit with a trip through the museum, and don't forget to check out our snack bar!

All trains depart from the museum for a 30 minute excursion hourly from 11 AM to 4 PM.
